S. 2 E. 8 Whoever Finds Wisdom, Finds Life: A Deep Dive into Proverbs 8
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
On this April 8th, we are diving deep into Proverbs 8 to discuss the Excellence of Wisdom. To me, wisdom isn't just something you get from a textbook; it’s what we learn when we’re on a mission, making mistakes, and choosing to return to the Lord and his Word.
In this episode, I explore:
- The Foundation of Wisdom: How wisdom was present before the foundations of the world were even created—it is a core principle of God’s design.
- The Power of Consistency: Why wisdom is found in "watching daily" at the gates and staying disciplined in our focus.
- Finding "Life" in the Daily Grind: Wisdom isn't just for the big moments; it’s for your day-to-day routines, your business, your marriage, and your connections. Whoever finds wisdom finds life and obtains favor from the Lord.
Scriptures Mentioned:
- Proverbs 8:32-36: "For whoever finds me finds life and attains favor from the Lord".
- Luke 11:28: "Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it".

Welcome to Build for Confidence, the podcast where kingdom builders rebuild identity, sharpen clarity, and lead with conviction. I am your host, Coach Paul Ibarra, and every week we're cutting through the noise to help you stop second guessing, start deciding, and build with confidence right where God has placed you. So listen, drop a review, drop a comment, hit that like, subscribe, all the things, and let's get started. April 8th of 2026. And we're going to be talking about the excellence of wisdom. Wisdom is one of those things that I don't believe is only something that is inserted into our life via instruction or via knowledge. Wisdom is something that when we're after a mission and we're headed to the place that we know we're supposed to be, there's going to be some mistakes that are made along the way. Wisdom is learning from those mistakes. Wisdom is learning from the word of God. Even though we may fail at times, the wisdom is continuing to return back to the Lord, continuing to return back to the place that we know we're supposed to be and where it started. So in here we see there's so much goodness. But I want to land at the latter part of this chapter. After it's wisdom is said, you know, I've been here since the beginning of time. When God started to create, when God was building the foundations, I was here. The wisdom of putting everything together before we were even formed in our mother's womb, before we were even probably thought of, wisdom was already here. Why? Because it's a principle of what God has created. Some people call it universal law. Some people call it this or that. I call it principles that God has set before the foundations were even created, because that's what his word says. And so through all of this, it talks about being prepared and being disciplined and being focused on the wisdom that we carry and the things that we do from wisdom. So now that we've landed to verse 32, it says, Now therefore listen to me, my children. For blessed are those who keep my ways. Let's go on over to Luke 11 and 28, and we'll see just what it says. Luke 11, verse 28. And it says, But he said, This is Jesus, more than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it. So there you are. Verse 33 says, Hear instruction and be wise, and do not disdain from it. Do not leave it, do not walk away from it, do not think it's not good, because it is. Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord. But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death. Whoever finds me finds life. I don't know about you, but I want to live. And I don't think this is talking about just living a long life. It's whoever finds me finds life in your moments, your circumstances, your relationships, your day-to-day routine, your day-to-day action, your day-to-day connections. Whoever finds me finds life. And that life is what's going to cause us also to be able to live out the favor that we obtain from the Lord. You see, proverbs are so simple, but yes, so deep. Proverbs are the words that will lead us down the right path if we choose to do so. And so today, April 8th, 2026, 706 a.m. my time. How much life do you want? How many conversations would you like to have today that would bring life to your soul? I don't know about you, but I would love every conversation that I tap into today to bring life to my mindset, to my business, life to my marriage. So let's stand on that today. What is that one area that you know in your life? And drop a comment down below here on the podcast. What is the one area that you would really definitely love to see life poured into your life through the Word of God? Is it your family? Is it your finances? Is it your home? Is it your marriage? Is it friendships? Is it connections? Is it revenue? Is it business? What is it? I know for me, every situation that I step in today, I want to see life. I want to hear life. Because the more that I learn, the more wisdom I can carry. But again, if you need a speaker to come and speak to your people, your school, your retreat, your men's retreat, whatever that is, reach out to me at coachpolyborra at lifecoachpaul.com.
