Happy Resurrection Sunday! I am so glad you’re here with me today to celebrate not just the death and rising of our Savior, but the incredible power behind it.
In this episode, we’re stepping away from our usual Proverbs study to focus on the one who died on the cross for our sins—the only lamb worthy to give us redemption. We look at Matthew 28:5-6, where the angel reminds us that He is not in the grave; He is risen!
Here is what we’re diving into today:
- The Power in You: The same power that raised Jesus from the grave lives inside of you and me. It’s the authority we carry every day to overcome obstacles in our lives, businesses, and leadership, even when we feel defeated.
- Leaning on Him: We reflect on Proverbs 3:5-6, reminding ourselves to lean not on our own understanding but on the one who redeemed us. I share how I went from being "broke, busted, and disgusted" to being fully redeemed because a debt was paid for my life.
- My Personal Turning Point: I share a bit of my story from January 9, 2005. I was "going to church," but I hadn't yet felt the resurrection on the inside until I finally got on my knees, exhausted and depleted, and asked God to loose the chains.
- Getting Better, Not Easier: Walking with Christ doesn't mean life becomes easy, but it means you get better through serving Him and serving others. As I always say, my worst day as a believer is still better than my best day out in the world.
- Beyond the Tradition: Today is about more than the mac and cheese, the ham, or the Easter eggs. It’s a time for deep reflection on the fact that without Christ, we wouldn't be here.
I want to hear from you! What was that "one day" for you—the moment you finally gave your life over to Christ? Please drop a comment and share your story with me; I would love to read about your journey.
Thank you for all your support as this mission grows. Have an awesome day, and I’ll talk to you soon!

Welcome back, y'all. This is Resurrection Day Sunday. It's awesome. And I'm so glad that you're here with me today. I'm so glad that we're able to celebrate together not only the death and the rising of our Savior, but the power that's behind it. But before we enter into that, I know we normally do our Proverbs this month, but for this Sunday morning, I woke up and I said, you know what? We got to talk about his resurrection. We got to talk about the Savior that did all the great things for us, right? And the one thing that he did was he died on the cross for your sin. He died on the cross for my sin. Because the power of sin was now broken because of his blood. He was the only lamb that was worthy, the only blood that could remove and give us redemption for our life. And so I want to talk about that this morning. And this is the day of when the guards came and they're looking at the stone and they're doing all the things, right? I'm paraphrasing. But Matthew 28, verse 5 through 6 says, But the angel answered and said to the women, Do not be afraid. For I know you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he is risen, as he said. Now come, see the place where the Lord lay. The power of the cross is to crush every sin in our life. But the power of the grave, busting out of that grave, is the authority and power that we carry every single day. And I want to talk about that for a minute because in my life, in my situations, in my whining and my things not adding up the way that I expected them to add up in life, business, leadership. Sometimes we can get in a place where we feel defeated. But this is where the power of the cross, the power of the grave, the power of Jesus Christ that lives in you, gives you the ability to overcome every single obstacle when we lean on Jesus, when we lean on God, when we lean on the Holy Spirit. Remember Proverbs 3, 5 through 6. Lean not on your own understanding. And when we lean on his understanding, when we lean on the fact that number one, we are not jacked up like we were at one point. I am no longer that addict. I am no longer the guy that was broke, busted, and disgusted. I am now redeemed. You are now redeemed. But see, in the redemption, there's power behind it. There's a debt that was paid for your life. There was a debt that was paid for my life, for your family's life, for your home, for the way you live, for your business, for your ministry, for your leadership, for all the things that you're called to do, there's a power that's involved. And that's what we want to tap into today. That's what we want to tap into today, and to understand that as we worship the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, I want you to take a moment and I want you to think back to the moment that you gave your heart to Christ. And I want you to remember the days before that. Short story for me is January 9th of 2005. This is 21 years ago. I was going to church, and church was good. I was connected with some good people and felt the love, all of that, but I didn't feel the resurrection on the inside of me. Because I had never confessed. I had never confessed my Lord and Savior. I was going to church and doing all the things that seemed to be right. And it was this one morning where I was just so tired. I was so exhausted. I was depleted. I was done. And I just got on my knees. I said, I don't know what this is all about. I don't know how this works, but I'm tired, God. And if you would remove this stuff from me, I need to be loosed of these chains. And that was the day that everything changed in my life. Was it easy? Absolutely not. Is it easy now? No. But here's the thing: rinse and repeat, serve God, serve people. Guess what? You get better. It doesn't get easier, but you get better. From that day forward, someone asked me, like, what was your experience and where are you at now? I said, you know, my worst day as a believer, because let's just be honest, we have worse days, are better than any of my good days out in the world. And that's where everything lays for my life. So, what about you? Where are you at? What was that one day that you finally just gave it to Christ? What was that one day that you're like, I'm just done? There's nothing else that I want to do. There's no one else that I want to talk to, but you were done that day and you handed your life over to your Savior. I would definitely love to hear. Drop a comment down below. Drop a comment in the podcast. Let me know what your thoughts are. Let me know where what that moment was for you. Would you do that for me? Because I would definitely love to see the comment. And listen, that's all I got for you today. Let's go and enjoy this awesome resurrection Sunday. It goes beyond the mac and cheese and the ham and the Easter eggs. It goes beyond that. It goes into the place of reflection, knowing without Christ, I wouldn't be here. So I want that proof to be in your life. And I'm praying for you. Thank you for all your support this year. This podcast is growing. But because there's a mission behind it. So God bless you. Let's have an awesome day. And we'll see you tomorrow. Talk soon.
