We're gonna call them conversations. So welcome back to the conversation, y'all. All right, this is conversation number four. So just like the intro said, we're gonna build your confidence. We're gonna talk about business. We're gonna talk about all the great things that God is doing.
Why Pastors And Leaders Can Charge
SPEAKER_01But like I said last week, we're gonna tap into this whole conversation about pricing and really building the confidence within yourself about pricing. Now, if you're a coach, do me a huge favor and drop a comment down below that says coach. If you are any type of business owner, whatever your business is, a hairstylist, hairstylist, if you're an author, author, if you're an editor, editor, if you're a pastor, pastor, whatever that is, pastors can still make money.
SPEAKER_00Pastors can still make money.
SPEAKER_01Now I know that's gonna mess with all y'all because you're like pastors, no, no, all the stuff that comes with it. Listen, pastors can have businesses, pastors can be consultants for other pastors, pastors can be coaches for some of their congregants. Because here's the thing when a person does not put skin in the game, they're gonna come to the pastor every single time. They're gonna be coming, whining, complaining, all the things, and there's no skin in the game. I've been there, I've been a pastor, I know the game.
Pricing Equals Self-Value And Trust
SPEAKER_00So now that we've aired out the room, now let's talk pricing. Pricing has nothing to do with the number that you put on a product.
SPEAKER_01You want to wanna you want to know what pricing is really about? Pricing is all about the value that you carry about yourself.
SPEAKER_00Because this is Built for Confidence podcast, baby. And there are times that you are charging so little because you don't trust yourself.
SPEAKER_01You see, in order for you to be confident, you have to trust in God, number one, but you also have to trust in you. You have to trust the fact that you are going to deliver 100% the thing that you say you're going to deliver. Now that we've aired out that room, now let's talk value, perceived value of yourself. You see, there were times in my life where I started the coaching programs and all of the things, and it was a scary place for me because of the value that I held for myself, the people that I have failed in life, the abuse, the anger, the bitterness, the rejection, all the things that I could not determine on my own, my own value.
SPEAKER_00Because it's those things that we carry at times.
SPEAKER_01So when you're pricing, it's not about hmm, I wonder what somebody would pay for this. No, it's what have I put in this thing? And how do I show the value, even if it's a $27 ticket, even if it's a $97 ticket, if it's a $9,700 ticket? But see, there's some of you out there right now that are still charging a $97 program, a $197 program. You've been holding that space for three years, four years. And you wonder why.
SPEAKER_00Why isn't anyone joining my stuff? Why isn't anybody uh just jumping in?
SPEAKER_01Here's the thing you don't see your own value, you don't see your own value because you're in a place that sometimes you're in in that in that mindset of, oh, I just want to provide it for everyone. And here's the reality that I had to
Escaping The Low-Ticket Trap
SPEAKER_01come to for myself. Because I was already comfortable with my lifestyle, my pricing and my value didn't really mean a whole lot, wasn't a priority. Somebody talks to me now. Listen, there's a value that's on my stuff. And I've had the conversation of letting people know you can't afford me.
SPEAKER_00Well, what does that mean? You can't afford my oil.
SPEAKER_01So now that that room is clear, here's the value that I put on my programs, and it's the value so that you see your value. Because I know my value, you can't pay for my coaching, and people can't pay for yours. It's not being arrogant, it's being real. But I put a price on it based on the value that you perceive about yourself as well.
SPEAKER_00Does that make sense?
Legacy Thinking Over Blockbuster Mindset
SPEAKER_01We cannot live in a Netflix world operating on a blockbuster mindset. There's no way. There's no way, shape, or form that that's gonna work. It can't work. You know why? Because as we evolve, as we grow, as we elevate, as we expand, as we build our confidence for ourselves and our family, and and and so let me just park there for a minute. You're building a business not just to make a little bit of money so you feel happy. Kingdom business is about leaving a legacy. Kingdom business is about coming together and saying, you know what, I'm gonna build this so I just so I build something that outlives me. That's what I'm building. I want to build something so phenomenal that it outlives me.
SPEAKER_00Henry T. Ford, the Ford, outlived him. Steve Jobs, Apple outlived him. Martin Luther King, that movement, outlived him. It can't stop when we die.
SPEAKER_01There's gotta be the impact, especially for kingdom. Because when we look at the word, we see every patriarch that we follow going, that's the life that I want to live. Why?
SPEAKER_00Because there's a legacy attached to it. So what's your pricing today? Let me help you, let me help you bust through that mindset. Stop looking at your product as something that is only this.
Lead With Outcomes, Not Job Titles
SPEAKER_01So, for instance, if you have a coaching program that you're a life coach, and somebody asks you, What do you do?
SPEAKER_00I'm a life coach. That limits you. Here's how you can reword it based on what you do, right?
SPEAKER_01So for me, I help leaders rebuild with confidence, clarity, so they stop spinning their wills. They go from burnout to bold out, spinning to winning, so that they can build a legacy that outlives them. That's gonna capture somebody's mindset and it works. As I began to start using that phrase, people are like, oh wow, that's that's really good. Like, so how do you do it? Then we get into a conversation that's already given the person value, like, wow, you know what? I actually know somebody who's in that man, that's much needed. And these are the conversations that I'm having with people in a local network. That's much needed. So where do you travel? Those are all buying signs. Where do you need me to travel? Well, I know somebody out in Colorado Springs. Well, a lot of my things that I do are online. Oh, that's great. That that'll work too. Then the next question: so, what kind of business does your friend own? Oh, he owns this type of business. Oh, okay. Does he have a team? Absolutely. Yep, he's got a team, he's got two or three people, but they're frustrated. Like things are okay, great. How do I get in contact with him? Can you make that connection for me? Not once did I even say life coach. That's presenting the value before somebody even gets on a call with you. That's presenting the value and maybe even solve a problem in that moment. Share a story. I just shared mine. But you see, you're never gonna get to the place of building your own confidence if you don't step out of the places that you've always operated in. It's time for you to elevate into your next level, your optimal level. The places that God wants to send you is gonna need a whole new you.
SPEAKER_00Does that make sense?
SPEAKER_01So here's a few things that you can do to help you create that conversation a little bit more bold.
Gather Signal, Not Just Create Content
SPEAKER_00Number one, take some time and stop putting content out. I challenge you.
SPEAKER_01Stop recreating content. Stop putting like, oh, I gotta go live again, I gotta do this, I gotta do that. There's seasons for that. I had a season for about a year and a half. I didn't do a podcast, I didn't do a live stream, I didn't do any of that. Why? Because I had to rebuild myself with confidence. I had to get to the place that I'm at today. But stop building content and start looking at your content and saying, what is this doing? And then also reach out to people and say, you know, the content that I put out there, what part of it like helped you?
SPEAKER_00Oh man, this right here. Like this part of your message really like, oh my God, it was great.
SPEAKER_01Or maybe you put some posts out there that are like, you know, on a scale of one to ten, where do you see this and this and that in your life? For me, my questions would be, what is your greatest struggle right now in business? And sometimes I get one or two comments. So guess what? I look at the comments and I'm like, hmm, I I can speak on that. So then I go and create a program, a live stream, a challenge with that in there. Like, oh my God, this is exactly what I need. Well, you just told me what you needed. So can you do that? Can you do that over the next seven days? Like, sit down, like literally, really, really, really sit down and say, hmm, what can I do? How can I help somebody? What are the people telling me that I've helped them with?
SPEAKER_00And how can I expand on that? Can you do that? I believe you can. I know you can.
